• Call for Entry- Artist / Art

Winter Lights at Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park
  • Artist Residency Program that brings immersive outdoor light to Loudoun County

Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services commissions individual artists, multiple artists, artist teams, and organizations to design and install original works along the back side of the Sensory Path (.1 mile) behind the Nature Center.

We welcome proposals across a wide range of media - including but not limited to light-based sculpture, kinetic or sound-integrated installation, projection, use of fabric, painted or illuminated surface treatments, sculpture, asphalt art, and mixed-media assemblage - provided the work is safe, weather-durable, and suited for a family-friendly unattended outdoor setting. Work may be temporary in nature or be loaned by the artist for the duration of the event.

Proposals should respond to the PRCS identity, park's identity, and the program's guiding theme of the senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, and the sensory experience of nature), interpreted broadly and creatively. We are especially interested in work that is discoverable and rewarding for repeat visitors of all ages.
